What is the web design process?

Of course, all of this will be discussed ahead of time and will be dependent on the size and scale of your website.
How long will it take to design and launch the website?
No one likes to here “it depends”, but we can’t give you a definitive answer without doing the requirements gathering. However, if you’re a local service provider e.g. a plumber, we could have your website live in 5 to 10 days. That would include several design changes and time for content creation.
Public Sector websites tend to take longer due to internal processes.
We’re happy to supply a no obligation quote with an estimated timeframe included.
Can you create the content on my website?

Will I be able to update and manage the website content myself?
Yes. All of our websites should be user friendly. However, if you require training we will be happy to supply this. We can also include a ‘manual’ on how to update certain pages and sections.
Most of our local businesses and SMEs prefer to take out a ‘support’ contract that includes content creation. The price for this will depend on individual needs.
What kind of ongoing support and maintenance do you offer?
Unless you buy the starter package, all of our websites come with 12 months of support included. This ranges from basic security and platform updates, to additional feature requests and website development.
We view all our clients as partners, and we genuinely want them to succeed. That’s why we offer competitive packages to support your website over the long term. And we appreciate that when our clients grow, and have a great website, they want to continue partnering with us as well.
What tools and products do you use in your web design process?
- Most of our clients ask us to use WordPress. This is a power Content Management System and enables us to create and manage robust websites. However, we can create a website for you using most modern tech stacks and no code platforms.
- For eCommerce we either use WooCommerce (which integrates seamlessly with WordPress) or Shopify.
- We’re familiar with most of the industry standard web analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, Plausible, Adobe Analytics, HockeyStack, and Microsoft Clarity. If you need help with tracking and reporting on website traffic and user behaviour, just ask us to include that in your quote.
- For Graphic Design we use a combination of Canva, Figma and Adobe Photoshop.
- WriterZen, SEMrush and Ahrefs assist with SEO, competitor analysis, and content marketing strategies.
- Our optional hosting packages are provided by AWS (Amazon Web Services), Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure. These are all scalable cloud hosting solutions and will meet the needs of 99% of organisations.
- Mailchimp is used for effective email marketing and lead capture.
We’d also recommend Google Business Profiles for small businesses and local service providers. We can manage this for you.
Are your websites GDPR compliant?
Yes. However, not all our websites have a cookie banner. We do publish robust and compliant cookie and privacy notices, but some of our clients use GDPR compliant tools which mean they don’t have to use the annoying cookie box.
